WASHINGTON, D.C.—The National Endowment for Financial Education® (NEFE®) has been honored by the consumer empowerment organization Consumer Action at their 43rd anniversary celebration. The October 21st event celebrated the theme “Train the Trainer,” recognizing organizations that work to educate low- to moderate-income Americans. Consumer Action recognized NEFE’s commitment to inspiring consumers by providing practical, unbiased information.

“This is a tremendous honor, for we appreciate Consumer Action’s steadfast efforts in educating Americans. Tonight has been a great opportunity to connect with many organizations that share the similar mission of equipping communities with financial tools and knowledge necessary to conquer life’s obstacles,” said Ted Beck, NEFE president and CEO, in accepting the consumer excellence award.

NEFE was honored alongside two other highly-respected personal finance proponents: Michelle Singletary, “Color of Money” columnist with the Washington Post; and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Consumer Education and Engagement Division.
