Kimberly Roy has nearly two decades of experience bringing together nonprofit, public and business organizations together to empower individuals through financial education. Currently Roy is manager, programs at the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE).

Before joining NEFE, Roy worked at Mile High United Way, where she created and led a financial empowerment collaboration of more than 25 organizations to coordinate asset building and financial education classes throughout metro Denver. Prior to that, she developed and taught financial education to refugee populations for Lutheran Family Services Refugee and Asylee Programs, including designing a curriculum for pre-literate refugees.

Roy holds a master’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown University, where she concentrated in international finance and received an honor’s certificate in international business diplomacy; a certificate to teach English language acquisition from Seattle University; and a bachelor's degree in international studies, French and Spanish from the University of Evansville. She holds an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) certification from the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE) and previously held a Series 6 investing securities license to sell mutual funds.

Outside of work Roy is the proud mother of three children. She advocates for special needs children as a volunteer for Firefly Autism, where she previously served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.
