NEFE hosted a forum discussing how to improve evaluation in financial education on September 29-30, 2015, in Washington, D.C. Billy Hensley, Ph.D., facilitated the discussion among 26 attendees comprised of researchers, practitioners and government representatives, covering obstacles of financial education program evaluation; the importance of minimum standards; supporting practitioner and small-scale assessment; and creating a culture of evaluation.
As a next step from the Evaluation Forum, NEFE convened a working group in Spring 2016 to write a white paper. The white paper, Perspectives on Evaluation in Financial Education: Landscape, Issues, and Studies, was completed in October 2016.
